A Fond Farewell to a Friend

The LiteBrite's now black and white,
Cause they took apart a picture that wasn't right.
Pitch burning on a shining sheet,
The only maker that you'd wanna meet.
A dying man in a living room,
Whose shadow paces the floor,
He’ll take you out any open door.

This is not my life...

It's just a fond farewell to a friend,
It's not what I'm like.
It's just a fond farewell to a friend,
I couldn't get things right.
A fond farewell to a friend...

Said, "really I just wanna dance,"
Good and evil matched perfect, it's a great romance.
I can deal with some psychic pain,
If it'll slow down my higher brain.
Veins full of disappearing ink,
Vomiting in the kitchen sink.
Disconnecting from the missing link...

This is not my life...

It's just a fond farewell to a friend,
It's not what I'm like.
It's just a fond farewell to a friend,
I couldn't get things right.
A fond farewell to a friend...

I see you're leaving me, and taking up with the enemy,
The cold comfort of the in between,
A little less than a human being.
A little less than a happy high,
A little less than a suicide,
The only things that you really tried...

This is not my life...

It's just a fond farewell to a friend,
It's not what I'm like.
It's just a fond farewell to a friend,
Who couldn't get things right.

Acceptance

I accept it as it is.
I accept it as it was.
I accept it as it's going to be.

I accepted you as you are.
I accepted you as you were.
I accept you as you're going to be.

Accept me as I am.
Accept me as I was.
Accept me.

It's over for all, except me...

Reflecting the Lunar Ghosts

Felt a hand, over my brow

Caressing as the moon hung low.

There's sillhouettes casting a dance on the water,

Alcohol flows through the veins,

And a warm smile...all the while,

The apparitions float,

Inches above slowly lifting fog,

Riding the streams set by the dark.

Moonbeams reflect off your hair like silver.

Tinsel streaks on the horizon...

The face of our minds,

Stuck in a time...better times...that we only knew...

Out of the blue, come visions of me and you,

You and I,

Riding high, the sandman flies...

To put you to rest, on the weight of my breath,

Deliver the dreams of a deep sleep,

Letting go of the constant anxiety...

In a blurry scene, lights are fading,

The sun goes down, the moon comes up,

Headlights greet us as cars kick up the dust.

He's smiling at us,

The great silvery globe,

Smiling on things that you, and I, and only he knows...

Smiling on the will of the free,

Smiling on serenity,

Smiling on divinity,

Smiling on you and me...

Casting beams of fluidity,

The dancing shadows digress,

As you twirl in your silver dress,

To my slowly opening eyes,

The world outside....it laughs, it cries,

The heart inside me...it burns of fire,

Forming and changing constant desire...

We're sleepwalking hand in hand,

To the sound of an esoteric band, with the reverb on high,

The sounds start to fly,

Taking you with me, to the scattering of stars in the infinity.

I can't form the words out of the ether,

I can't hold the things you want me to hold,

I can't be the couragoues, or the brave, or the bold...

I can only make the things last,

As a fixture in my past.

Scenes of faultlines on the crest of my soliloquy,

Remind myself that you will forever haunt me...

Infirmary For The Heart

Started the day,
In the same way.
Left leg in first,
Right shoe on last.

I didn't think today,
I didn't feel any way.
I just sat there,
And forced it away.

The breeze helps cleanse,
The wounds of my sins,
Clearing the gloss,
I'm cutting my losses.

Rightfully thankful,
Delightfully blessed.
I've found some relief,
I'm finding some rest.

One step at a time,
I'm gonna be fine.
I'm sewing it up,
It only takes time.

I'm writing this prose,
For who only knows.
But when it is through,
It won't be for you...
