Dive

Paddling out, looking forward, streamlining for the unknown.
The waves fold and roll over your board, and the little grains of sand riding with you are swept off to sink to the bottom of the ocean floor, where they displace their share of the world's seas, giving the ocean it's breadth and depth.
As small as they are, they carry weight, each and every one of them.
They carry purpose, each and every one of them.
Without each and every one of them, the mighty ocean would have no bed to lay it's burden...to lay it's trust.

Standing takes time and it takes resilience.
Picking the right wave is important.
It's important to all of us.
Timing is requisite.
Each of us knows which wave fits us best, but if timing is off and our effort lacking, we slide off the back side to watch it pass us by roaring ahead without us, or we are up-ended and thrown violently to the basement of the ocean floor rattled and dazed.
The visions in our heads are looking for a match, and when they come rolling in one by one, we watch patiently to judge it's breaking point and whether or not it fits those visions of desire.

When the right wave breaks in front of us, no lack of exertion should keep us from turning the nose and diving down the curl.
Arms flail, awkward at first, but with defeats and failures and tenacity and the ability to let go, our form becomes more precise and fluid...the next one gets easier.

Abiding by the shape and flow of the wave.
Letting go of precepts and adjusting to the ride and it's nonpareil idiosyncrasies.
Grabbing ardently at fistfuls of water to meet the speed of our chosen wave so that we can make the journey together as one.
Finding the balance to navigate and create through the churning, unharnessed waters.
Absorbing the seductive dance like it was meant to be; like you were meant to be there and nowhere else.
Trusting that this wave, the one you've chosen, will offer to keep you upright and suspended above the dangers that lurk below.

We ride in, splaying water from side to side; carving the ocean in beautiful cuts all the way in to God's golden shores; knowing you made the journey together.
